Your Final Exhibition is 40% of your mark – but is internally assessed then externally moderated.  Which means, your teacher sends in their assessment of your work.  IB chooses a small representation of your class at each mark bandwidth to sample.  If IB agrees with your teacher’s assessment, all marks within that bandwidth stay.  If IB does not agree, all marks within the bandwidth change.

So… go easy on your teacher.  Of course, they would like to give everyone a 7.  But, if they do, they everyone runs the risk of being moderated down.  It is much safer (and more beneficial to you) to aim low.

Also, many students stress about the location for their Final Exhibition. Obviously, we all want to hold our Final Exhibitions in a grand modern art gallery designed specifically to create all our more ingenious inventive displays – definitely not in a corner of our cafeteria or our sports gym.  How so un-artistic.  However, it doesn’t matter.  IB Examiners are under strict instructions to not give any bias to Art Gallery location and facilities available. What matters is how the artworks are created, selected and connect.  But let’s be honest.  It all matters.  So make sure you take the very best photos to represent your work in the best light possible.
